 Baroda is one of the few cities in India, which is still influenced by the lost might of its ruling dynasties known as the city of Palaces and Gardens . Once the capital of the princely Gaekwads, Vadodara is graceful city of palaces, parks, temples and museums. Today oda  Baroda is a pleasant, medium-sized city with some interesting  museums and art galleries and a fine park. The city's Fine Arts College attracts students from around the country and abroad.Other highlights of Baroda are the beautifully painted Tambakarwada Haveli, the 8th century Narayan temple, the Narsinghji Haveli Temple, and others. 

The Baroda Museum and Picture Gallery

This museum is located in Sayaji Bagh, a garden that is popular with the inhabitants of Baroda (or Vadodara).the collection in the museum belongs largely to the former ruler of the state, Maharaja Sayaji Rao Gaekwad III.

This museum was opened in 1921 and additions and changes have been made periodically, but the 'cluttered look' continues to dominate the museum galleries. There are samples of art objects, especially manuscripts from Persia, Turkey and Japan.

MAHARAJA FATEHSINGHRAO GAEKWAD MUSUEM

    Located in the Laxmi Vilas Palace, it has a fabulous collection of Greek, Roman and European Sculptures and Art objects. There are original paintings of India’s celebrated artist Raja Ravi Varma and European oil paintings.
