| Baroda is one of the few cities in India, which is still influenced by the lost might of its ruling dynasties known as the city of Palaces and Gardens . Once the capital of the princely Gaekwads, Vadodara is graceful city of palaces, parks, temples and museums. The Baroda Museum and Picture Gallery (Vadodara-Gujarat ) This museum is located in Sayaji Bagh, a garden that is popular with the inhabitants of Baroda (or Vadodara).the collection in the museum belongs largely to the former ruler of the state, Maharaja Sayaji Rao Gaekwad III. This museum was opened in 1921 and additions and changes have been made periodically, but the 'cluttered look' continues to dominate the museum galleries. There are samples of art objects, especially manuscripts from Persia, Turkey and Japan.
